The age of chevron beads is difficult to estimate, but knowing that Chevron production with the highest volume of beads was in the late 1800s and early 1900s. These beads were usually 4 and 6 layer beads while earlier production in the 16th Century had normally 3 or 5 layers. The 7layer beads are probably the most ancient and may date back to the 15 th Century.
