Pair of Nas Kurai Cuff Bracelet from the Hindu Kush 04.03.1921
A pair of cuff bracelets of tubular armlets were worn on the forearm, densely decorated with rows of applied diamond-shaped plaques. Both edges of each have been reinforced with ribbed tubing. They close with a small pin mechanism. (one pin is missing lost and has to be replaced). Rare for such bracelet, one still has the original pins (see pictures). Origin: Afghanistan / Pakistan border area and Rajasthan in India. The area along the ancient Silk Road trade route that provided influences from both East and West. These bracelets were offered at weddings, and their weight was a pledge of value. A perfect piece for collectors. They can easily be put on and removed using a pin clasp.
