Pair of Omani errings 03.04.1072

These circular hoop called halaq or shaghab have a smooth round top half with a thick rigged bottom part ending in a large silver bead. To this hoop are attached various bagels, or in the present item, a long oblong silver bead and 2 bangels. The heavier of these earrings are suspended to a chain passed over the head so that they hang down beside the ears, rather than through them.
