These thin disks have holes punched in pairs at the four cardinal points. These discs could have been used as shield bosses. Shield boss is the center piece of round shields used by the Ethiopian warriors. Another use of these discs could be a decoration of of horse trappings. Discs such as these were also used as decorative pieces for bead jewelry among the Oromo and Arussi.

This is a rare and old Ring from the Sidamo Tribal area of Southern Ethiopia. This ring was worn by male members of the tribe, either as a ring or used as a pendant. The ring is of a very rough manufacture, due to its prolonged use it had to be repaired with a thread from cuivre.

Brass rings from West Africa, some may be Dogon, some others from Nigeria. Originally used as hair ornaments that would represent wealth, or worn braided onto a leather thong as a currency belt, and used as currency in tribal trade. Some have a "snake skin" cross-hatch pattern. Sold also individually. Polished the make beautiful fingerrings.

This pendant in the form of a shield is of unknown origin. Glar 2015 found a similar one in the area populated by the Senufo, but mentions that very little information exists on such pendants.
