A pair of heavy and rare upper arm bracelets from Yemen. Called also damlaj, such a bracelet was worn by women in Yemen’s Mahwit Province and Rashida womenon both shores of the Red Sea They are of hollow cast silver, tested over 900%0 with spiky cones on both faces and they are surmounted at the top with a massive silver band with 3 rows of 3 massive spheres each. On one bracelet one sphere is missing but nothing detracts from its beauty. Origine: bought from a Yemeni silversmith in Asmara (Eritrea) in the 1970 ties.
