Tobacco pipe Dinka (Sudan) 21.01.1587

SThe pipe is composed of a dark wood pipe head and stem. The furnace is lined with metal inside the fireplace. It is decorated with two horizontal lines. The furnace is extended by protrusions on three sides. The two lateral sides of rectangular shapes, in their centre, is inserted a brass disc. The brass mouthpiece is linked to the furnace by a wooden centrepiece. Similar pieces are in MEG (Musée d'Ethnographie Genève) Inv. No. ETHAF 041485 and the MEN (Neuchàtel).The pipe head has rest of long tobacco use.
