An old Yemenite silver amulet called "hirz" used to keep some Koranic verses inside. This sort of pendant is widespread in Oman, Yemen and the Arabic peninsula. Although it does not open, the amulets was deliberately crafted to be hollow, intended for storing and amplifying the precious prayers, wishes, and secrets of the wearer.

The Yemeni labbeh or kirdan necklace is made of low silver elements that are interconnected like woven cloth. The labbeh was worn in at least four ways by Muslims and Jews in Yemen and Saudi Arabia: as a necklace, on top of the head, as a chin-chain attached to a headdress, and as a veil.

The geometrical design has diamonds around a blank central portion. The Qur'an box has a central bead on top of the hirz and is strung to a rope. On the rope they are 12 silver beads, 2 silver cylinder and 2 decorated round medallion. The Samand hirz are commonly found in the Sharqiyah and or Nizwa area. The box has twenty silver chains suspended from it and each of these terminates with silver losange. The box opens at one end to allow slips of paper inscribed with protective Koran verses to be slipped inside.The necklace comprises a thick, twisted wool cord clad for the most part with thick silver beads decorated with granulation and other work.

The horizontal part ends with a heavy bunch of twisted strands of tiny silver beads. Collar made of dark brown woven goat-leather onto which is stitched seven rows of silver studs.

Splendid necklace called "shibgat" from Central Oman. It is not strictly speaking a necklace as it is suspended from the ears. The present piece is a twoe-row "shibgat". Much use has been made of decorated gold leafs, both on the cross pieces and on the 2 strand chain. The coral coloured beads are interspersed with silver beads The top row of the necklace consists of oblong shapes, while te second row consists of diamond shapes.
