Earrings: In the olden times both men and women wore earrings. Most earrings are designed to be worn with pierced ears, often 3 or more holes. Some are so heavy that they have to be worn on the pinna or even attached to a headband. Some others are so long that thex play the dual role of earring and neck ornament.
Headdresses: they may cover all or part of the head for special occasions such as a wedding.

Omani nis'a or dufuf "earings" with silver wire decoration. Each earring comprises an elongated hollow cone decorated on the outside with silver filigree. A loop of silver wire (Hàlka) joins the top and the bottom of the cylinder. Women in Northern Oman wore these earrings, often several of them, depending on the wealth of the woman, attached to a silver chain which ran across the top of the head.

These circular hoop called halaq or shaghab have a smooth round top half with a thick rigged bottom part ending in a large silver bead. To this hoop are attached various bagels, or in the present item, a long oblong silver bead and 2 bangels. The heavier of these earrings are suspended to a chain passed over the head so that they hang down beside the ears, rather than through them.

This type of ear rings were worn by women from Sur, a similar type ("halka" earrings) is also found in Dhofar. The curved part of the D shaped earring is a simple silver wire, while the upright consists of two silver beads, with a red glass bead in the middle. The upright is fastened by a small silver wire.
