Churning-rod holders or Ghurras, sometimes also called Neti are nicely sculpted objects used to keep the churning-stick upright. All Ghurras are made of two distinctive elements: a ring which may be open or closed which holds the churning stick. The more the ghurra has been used the more this ring shows signs of use. The second element can be in various shape but terminates typically with a ring, a hook or an eye to attach the ghurra to post or any other fixed attach. One can class the ghurras in two distinct styles: the figurative style, which refers mainly to 3 different themes (the life on the farm, anthropomorphic figures and the hand, and the abstract or geometric form.
