This long hanging pectoral pendant was acquired in Eritrea in 1991. Rashaïda and Nubian women were these pectoral hangings. It comprises flat, engraved silver plates, and numerous dangles. There is a small loop at the top to allow suspension.

Similar to 01.03.1892 origin from Siwa oasis in Egypt. Following th place this pair was collecte shows that identical cuffs are also worn by women of the Nubian and Rashaida tribes of the era.

Highly decorative silver bracelet with gold guilted strips; 3 picks, and dangles. Very small opening (20 mm) those difficult to werar.

Richly decorated bracelet from Ethiopia /Eritrea. probably Yemeni origin.

A pair of heavy and rare upper arm bracelets from Yemen. Called also damlaj, such a bracelet was worn by women in Yemen’s Mahwit Province  and Rashida womenon both shores of the Red Sea  They are of hollow cast silver, tested over 900%0 with spiky cones on both faces and they are surmounted at the top with a massive silver band with 3 rows of 3 massive spheres each. On one bracelet one sphere is missing but nothing detracts from its beauty. Origine: bought from a Yemeni silversmith in Asmara (Eritrea) in the 1970 ties.

This bracelet made from a hollow tube, adorned with granulation's and filigree. A diamond shaped plate with engravings is fixed where both ends join. Great quality of workmanship and superb patina.

In good conditions but sign of years of intensive use.

Despite their massive appearance this hollow C-shaped anklets are quite light. They always have polyhedral pommels with stars and dots punched onto the rectangular face. Beside the Rashaida tribe in Eritrea and Sudan, the Fellahin women of upper Egypt wear similar anklets. These anklets are part of a dowry of a Rashaida bride by the grome. Often when these items do get back into the trades line, they do get separated. complete airs are difficult to fond.
