A beautiful small antique Tibetan Gau Amulet Box while the oval domed front is of silver, engraved Tibetan motifs and the back section is made of a copper aloy.  Although worn in all areas, the oval-shaped silver ga’u was particularly favored by women in Lhasa and the southern border areas of Tibet, in Sikkim and Bhutan.  This Gau shows signs of wear (holes on the back side) but is otherwise still in good condition.

An antique Tibetan Gau Amulet Box while the oval domed front is of silver, engraved Tibetan motifs and the back section is made of copper.  The center has a dark turquoise gem. Although worn in all areas, the oval-shaped silver ga’u was particularly favored by women in Lhasa and the southern border areas of Tibet, in Sikkim and Bhutan.  Due to insesive wear the box has some broken parts on the right side of the cover (see pictures).

A small antique Tibetan Gau Amulet Box while the oval domed front is of silver, engraved Tibetan motifs and the back section is made of a poor silver alloy. The red centerpiece is an imitation of a coral bead and a stylized dorje ornament at the bottom. This box is in perfect overall condition.
